JDS Design Services, Inc.
Drawings precise enough to build from.
Architectural drafting and design for custom homes, additions, horse barns and commercial work across Marion County and central Florida.
The role
As a designer, I work with owners, general contractors, civil engineers, architects, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and structural consultants to develop and design a wide variety of projects — making sure we meet and exceed our client's expectations and standards.
That means the drawings leaving this office are coordinated before they reach the building department, and detailed enough that the crew in the field is not left guessing.
Owners
Plans you can read, budget from, and take to permitting without surprises.
General contractors
Sets detailed for the field, with the dimensions and schedules the crew needs.
Architects
CAD production and drafting capacity that keeps your set moving on schedule.
Engineers & consultants
Backgrounds and coordination that keep civil, MEP and structural in agreement.
Services
What gets designed here
Everything from as-built and photo surveys of existing buildings to detailing large commercial and governmental projects.
Custom homes
A one-of-a-kind house designed for a specific client and a particular location — your control over layout, lot fit and accessibility.
Additions
Square footage added to the side or rear, a second story on top, or an enclosure underneath an existing structure.
Horse barns
Farm buildings for horses and livestock, laid out around stalls, storage and how the property actually runs.
Commercial & government
Detailing on larger projects in the public and private sectors, coordinated with the full consultant team.
How it runs
Four stages, start to permit
-
Stage one
Consultation
We talk through the site, the goals, the budget and the timeline, and settle the scope.
-
Stage two
Survey & concept
An as-built or photo survey where the project needs one, then preliminary layouts for review.
-
Stage three
Design development
Plans refined against your feedback and coordinated with the engineers and consultants.
-
Stage four
Construction documents
A complete, permit-ready set your contractor can build from.
